Halloween

The fun part of being back in the states after nearly 7 years, is experiencing American culture with new eyes. One of the things that has struck me this furlough, about our culture, is how artistic we are. We decorate for every holiday, and Halloween alone has carving and costumes! We are a creative bunch, we Americans!

After our pumpkin-carving party at Grandpa's a few weeks ago, we continued the artsy Halloween festivities with a pumpkin-painting party with all the Moffits. It was impressive. I like to think of us as the VonTrapp family - but we paint instead of sing!

Then, on Halloween, we dressed up a Native American, a Cowgirl, and a Pirate...and off we went to trick-or-treat. First stop - Grandpa's!

We got a lot of candy, saw some very cool Halloween decorations (like dry-ice bubbles!), and finished our 'tour' with a stop at Uncle Caleb and Aunt Taylor's and of course Grandma's.
